Buying a house from a guy that didn’t do the best job on his hardwood floors. In several places, he left too much room for expansion between the ends of the boards and the wall, and now there’s a decent gap between the end of the floor boards and the front of the trim.
I don’t want to rip the floor out entirely but have never had to fix a problem like this before. I was thinking of buying some new hardwood boards, cutting and ripping them to fit the different spaces, and tacking them in place. Does this seem like a decent method? Also considered just tacking some quarter round in front of the trim but don’t really want that approach or look.
Would like to hear from anyone that’s dealt with this before.
