exterior paint.

Im working on getting my home ready for market. my garage needs painted . after pressure washing a little paint is still on in spots. do i need to scrape all the paint it just cover whats left .

    Painter here! Biggest thing is making sure there’s nothing that’s going to flake off. As long as you can’t pry up the paint that’s left with a fingernail, it’s generally ok to paint over it. But give those areas a couple quick passes with sandpaper before you get to painting. That’ll help make sure your new coat sticks, and also will help make sure the area’s flush and you’re not left with raised edges.

    Also: don’t forget to use a primer to seal any areas of bare wood. 😀

    You should go over the small imperfections with sanding paper before repainting just to be sure you don’t run into any issues repainting. After that, you should be free to continue fixing the garage up before putting your home on the market.
